For this project I was asked to replace the very basic white kitchenette in my clients Surf Coast guest house with a colourful & inviting design.

As always the interior design process involved discussing my clients preferences & hopes for the space. In this case my clients loved hand crafted tiles & wanted to give the room warmth with timber tones. They also wanted the new kitchen to have a bright & cheerful feel for there friends & family to enjoy. The kitchen also had to be functional & low maintenance.

To achieve this brief I suggested we use Caesarstone Bench Tops with Laminex Riven Finish Cabinetry. Laminex Riven Finish is a range of incredibly realistic looking imitation timber laminate that has the look & feel of timber without the cost & is far more robust in the kitchen environment. Then to give the space the all important colour & light-heartedness I suggested we use mosaic tiles from Perini Tiles. My clients were immediately drawn to the Hex Mint design. From there I produced design concept imagery which I happily reworked until the final look was settled upon.

My trusted cabinet makers, plumber, electrician & tiler were then scheduled to make it happen & voilà! A brand kitchen just I’m time for the holiday season.

As you can see the finished product is very similar to the Concept Imagery…
