The Challenge…
Kylie’s client felt his newly purchased early 2000s apartment had all the appeal of a retirement home. Having lived abroad for decades, he was seeking a luxe aesthetic in earthy, harmonious tones, with the added comfort and convenience of modern smart technologies, including demisting mirrors, intelligent washlet toilets, induction cooking, auto taps, sensor LED lighting, heated towel rails and panel showers.

The dated display cabinet in the entry was replaced with a vestibule style space, for shoes & outerwear & the dated carpet covered stairs were recovered in flush nose timber Nordic Blonde timber & completed with an LED lit custom handrail.

The Solution…
The apartment was stripped of its tired finishes and reimagined for a modern lifestyle.
At the entry, the dated display cabinet was removed and replaced with a vestibule-style nook designed for shoes and outerwear. The stairs, previously covered in dated dark carpet, were recovered in Nordic Blonde flush-nose timber and paired with a custom LED-lit handrail for a clean, contemporary welcome.
The wet areas underwent a complete transformation, upgraded with modern technologies and luxurious hotel-style finishes, from panel showers and intelligent fittings to tactile stone tiles and custom joinery in warm timber tones.
In the living and dining zones, the inconsistent click-clack floating timber-look floor (broken awkwardly with carpet) was replaced with solid engineered Nordic Blonde timber flooring, creating seamless flow and a soft, timeless base for the apartment’s new design.
